Here at Garden Games we have always looked to add value to our croquet sets range not just by being known as a quality manufacturer or for the beauty or excellent design of our range but by introducing the game to players who may have been overlooked by the game or thought that the fantastic game of croquet was not for them. Our Lawn and Cottage smaller croquet set have been popular since their introduction to the range and it seemed clear that families were buying smaller sets so that their children who may struggle with larger and heavier weight adult sized mallets could play. However a smaller set loses some of the challenge offered in the larger sets. Family croquet sets have been around a while and introducing a family set seemed to be the way forward however at Garden Games we like to lead rather than be lead. It took us until 2010 to finally come up with a set design that we were happy with and that met this unique challenge in the croquet market. How can allow adults to play a challenging game while giving children a chance with equipment they can easily manage.
The answer is the Sandford family set.
The Sandford Family croquet set has two adult sized mallets and two smaller cheerfully painted smaller children’s mallets that are smaller lighter and easy for a child to handle. However having different sized mallets in one four player set is not uncommon the real difference in our brilliant family set are the balls. Two 12oz wooden croquet balls and two child sized smaller balls. this small change means that with the standard sized powder coated steel hoops everyone can enjoy a brilliant game of croquet. The adult players can play their normal challenging game while the children have an easier run at the hoops which are larger when compared to the smaller balls. making it a more fun game all round.
Specifications: 2 x Oval spliced wood shaft hard wood head mallets with a leather bound grip 37 1/2 inches in length.
2 x Wooden children’s croquet mallets with Red and Blue painted heads and fabric grips for comfort. Each mallet is 78.5cm in length 2 x 12oz painted wooden adult croquet balls in Yellow and Black. 2 x 6.05oz painted wooden children’s croquet balls in Blue and Red (to match the Smaller mallets, 6 x Hoops (wickets) 4 white topped and one each of red and blue topped hoops 43.7cm x 12.2m x11mm (D) 4 each in white.4 x Plastic croquet clips.
1 x Hardwood painted winning post 54cm x 4cm (D) All packed in a zip fastening nylon bag with shoulder strap for portability….
