in the south and south west of britain you will find some of the most idyllic rivers in the country, from the beautiful river wye on the welsh border, to the historic river avon and the beaulieu river nature reserve. this experience allows you to slowly paddle along these meandering waterways while you enjoy the surroundings. there’s something calming about propelling a craft down rivers. if you want more testing water then there’s sections of faster water on some stretches. this is much more than a ‘guided tour’ and instructors are always encouraging development of kayaking and canoeing techniques throughout your trip. your experience will begin with you being kitted out in a waterproof top, helmet and life jacket. then you will go through some basic paddling techniques and safety procedures so you know what to do once you’re in the water. don’t worry, your instructor will always be close at hand to coach and will help you back into your boat if you fall in the water….
