As more and more CX bikes are now arriving with disc mounts fitted as standard, and with Hope's continued participation in one of the UK toughest cycle events, the 3 Peaks Cyclo-Cross, the remote master cylinder was an obvious choice of product for them to develop. The neat dual master cylinder fits onto a special bracket under the handlebar stem, giving the powerful brakes which dropbar bikes are usually lacking and keeps the run of cable as short as possible. The transition from cable to hydraulic is achieved with an extremely simple piston system, removing the need for complicated levers. The master cylinder is coupled with the proven X2 caliper.
