The invisible welded rim joint highlights the impeccable standard of H Plus Son's workmanship. The wide profile of the Archetype rim provides not only additional strength and stiffness but also a better tyre profile. The tyre is no longer shaped as a light bulb, flopping over with high load but mimics a tubular tire, giving enhanced performance, when cornering hard. Sapim are renowned for the quality of their spokes. Their Race spokes are made from stainless steel with a high quality electroplated black finish. They are double butted to provide a strong but lightweight spoke. The Shimano Ultegra hubs are renowned for their performance and durability. Shimano are one of the few brands still using cup and cone bearings, giving you not only fast rolling hubs but also hubs that are easy to service. The 6800 hubs feature digital adjustment allowing bearing preload to be easily adjusted without the need for any tools. The bearing races are treated with cubic boron nitride to provide a mirror finish. This reduces rolling resistance and helps protect against corrosion. Labyrinth and low-friction contact seals ensure the bearings are protected from the elements.
