With a boyhood love of Asterix & Obelix and Tintin, this early design was inspired by comic stories of the 70s-80s. ‘Balls to the Wall’ is about going all out, throwing it out on the line, the spirit that embodied the brand in the early days and still does now. The blend of simple, big textured graphics with the silhouette surfer graphic, symbolises the daring, bold and confident personality of the brand – and the surfers of that time. The original design was developed through multiple acerate separations, on the infamous Saltrock grey. Originally designed and printed in the back of the original shop and studio on Saunton Road in the early 1990’s. Limited Edition of 400.
