If you are looking for something to do this weekend then head to Surf Snowdonia.
We have previously featured the unique, first worlds world-first inland surf lagoon and this weekend, 18th to 19th September, Surf Snowdonia are hosting Red Bull Unleashed 2015.
Red Bull Unleashed will see the most creative surfers from around the world descend on Dolgarrog, a small town nestled in the foothills of the Snowdonia National Park.
Unleashed is the only major surf event to take place on an artificial wave. This means there’ll be no waiting around for the perfect wave, or straining to see what’s going on out at sea while you stand on the beach. Instead you’ll be able to catch all of the action from a pier that runs right through the centre of the wave garden as some of the world’s most talented surfers go head to head.
24 of the most creative surfers compete in a head to head format best of 5 waves.
Each heat will last a maximum of 30minutes with a wave passing every 3 minutes.
Tickets cost £8.00, children under 12 are free, car parking is an extra £10.00, with space on site for 250 cars.
There is also a free park and ride from Mochdre Commerce Park, with travel to the event site (around 15 mins) via bus service provided by Conwy County Council.
