If you're looking for luxurious and peaceful glamping, Hawthorn Retreat sits privately on a hill overlooking the river Petteril in a hidden corner of Cumbria, a heavenly corner of calm and tranquillity.
Insulated with Herdwick wool and heated throughout with LPG and solar powered electricity, this wonderful shepherds hut is a warm and cosy eco retreat. Hawthorn Retreat has been designed with the utmost comfort, with its oak flooring and a king-size bed, complete with a Vispring mattress and Egyptian cotton linen. There are oak fold-down chairs and a table for dining, which fit perfectly under the bed when not required. The kitchen area is well equipped with an LPG gas hob and oven, fridge, all the crockery and utensils you need, as well as pots and pans. It is a great little space to cook something delicious. At the end of the hut is a well thought-out shower room with a shower, wash basin, WC and chrome heated towel rail, as well as complimentary toiletries.
Through the french doors and down a few steps, leads you onto a sunny decked area. Sit back and relax with a glass of something cold as the sun goes down, or cosy up with a blanket next to the fire pit on a chilly evening. There is also a barbecue for those who prefer to cook alfresco. With wild flowers aplenty and the river running by just below, you will struggle to find a more idyllic spot.
Shortly there will be a heated external drying cupboard for wet coats and boots for the hut.
