Design and create a unique and beautiful headpiece during this full day millinery class in London. Working under the expert guidance of award-winning London Milliner and couture designer, Katherine Elizabeth, you will learn how to block, edge and wire your very own head piece. With a maximum of two students per course, you will enjoy plenty of attention and instruction! Over 7 hours you will be given an intense introduction to the world of the millinery, trying your hand at the delicate art for yourself, and making a fantastic headpiece to take home with you! You can decorate and trim your head piece with fabrics, feathers and beads to reflect your taste and personality. You will be helped throughout by the expert milliner, who will help you with all aspects of the headpiece – and at the end of your day you will have a beautiful creation that you can wear again and again… and when you are complimented on the piece, you get to say "Oh this? I made it myself".The Millinery masterclass begins at 10am, with an introduction to the London studio, a briefing and a bit of theory, explaining a little bit about the historical development of millinery techniques. This should take about half an hour, after which you will move on to blocking (shaping and stretching your headpiece), wiring (giving shape and definition to the headpiece), and edging. You will then break for lunch at 1:30pm. You will then have until 5pm for trimming and finishing, using stunning silks and feathers to really make your creations your own. At the end of the day you will have a stunning and unique headpiece to take home with you, fitting for those special occasions….
